Being thankful causes you to rein your mind in and think about what God has done for you. The more you think on the good He has done, the more it increases your faith.
Perhaps that is why He was SO HARD on the grumbling and complaining that the children of Israel did in the wilderness.
You cannot be complaining and thankful for the good things God has done for you at the same time. Quite to the contrary, you are allowing yourself to believe He is NOT doing things well enough. Unbelief creeps in.
Complaining undermines faith and faith is necessary for all that God does for us. No wonder God is hard on murmurers and complainers!
Thanks, Bro. Randy, for helping me to see how thankfulness is intertwined with faith.
I once heard someone described as one who had a "sweet, southern spirit." That is my goal in life. I love teaching and being with children. Music fills each and every one of my days, whether I'm playing or simply listening. Books are my prized possessions. Family and good friends are dear to me. My one true love is worshipping and serving God. That's just me!
